I sold out in about four hours, but as I realized this was about to happen, I approached all the brands featured inside my box and secured a few more items so I could create MORE boxes!

(I can't tell you the products featured in the box yet because it's a surprise, but they're all amazing brands, and they love our community through and through.)

Keratosis Pilaris and the Gluten Connection

I love exploring the connection between random disorders and gluten.

A client recently told me that she had keratosis pilaris, which manifests as harmless red and white bumps that look like acne on the skin.

I, too, once had keratosis pilaris (although I didn't know that was what it was called at the time) before I knew I had celiac disease and went gluten-free. I hated those unsightly bumps up and down my arms.

It got me wondering if there was a connection between gluten and this common skin condition, so I did a little digging. It turns out there just might be.

GF Cafe Closing: A dedicated gluten-free cafe in Northeast Ohio, Cafe Avalaun, announced on Instagram that it's closing its doors. Don't let your favorite dedicated gluten-free bakery or cafe close. Here's a list of 300 gluten-free bakeries to support.

Maybe She's Not Your BFF? Susie Essman discusses her 25-year-long gluten-free diet on Watch What Happens Live and how her bestie, Joy Behar, refuses to make her famous lasagna with gluten-free noodles. I'm glad my besties love making me gluten-free food. You can view the clip here.

New Product Alert: GOODLES just launched a gluten-free mac and cheese. Don't confuse it with its gluten-full lineup because the packaging is very similar. I can't wait to try it!

Urthbox Shmurthbox: I want to be upfront with you and let you know that I no longer support Urthbox. Here's why:

In December, Urthbox included a gluten-y ramen noodle packet in its gluten-free box. The owner and I exchanged words, and she profusely apologized. I even published her apology. She promised it wouldn't happen again.

This month, a reader told me she got the February Urthbox, and, you guessed it, it included a Lenny & Larry’s cookie made with [gasp!] ... enriched wheat flour!! 🤢

The whole Urthbox debacle kinda inspired me to create Love Me Gluten Free. We deserve a subscription box that is curated just for us by people who know, love, and understand the gluten-free lifestyle. And we certainly don't deserve to be treated as an afterthought.
